The man who sold the vegetables

Went to the 'pasar malam' last night to buy fish, meat and suchs. Since my roomate did all the buying, I need to do the carrying (groceries and kids) .

During the vegetables buying process, the guy who received the cash said something peculiar to my roomate. " Akak ni cantiklah! (Sis, you are beautiful lah)". Well heard by us, because I am standing right next to her.

From the look on his face, I strongly believed it was a sincere compliment, and I didn't have any problem with that.

But Sir, we - men should, by best practicable means, avoid throwing such compliment to another man's wife, especially when her husband is near. That kind of statement may bring disaster to both involving parties, and the surrounding environment too.

Me and my roomate, floated by the truthful flattering remark didn't say a thing. On the other end, the guy who sold us the vege, realising his provocative act (again by the look on his face), quickly ended his admiring comment with a "Sorry bro, just joking".

No problem dude - I'm okay with that.

Afterall, no disaster happened.

Intimidated? Naaa... Floated, yes. I was trained to hear all compliments via nose.
